My MIL believes this. Back in the 70 s when we were all in clgoee, she thought that women with degrees was a waqste of time. Her husband dropped out of Cornell and still managed to work 25 years for Wesinghouse as an engineer.' He retired at 55 and has lived off a generous pension for 25 years now. That will never happen again in this country. The children and grandchildren with degrees are far better off than those who did not take that route. She is also against public education, so the grandkids she had close by went to church schools. Again, the four who went to college (albeit, church run college,) are all working but not one of them is married, and they sopend their weekend nights in bars. The 4 who blew off college are having a much tougher time of things. And the 6 who grew up out of her reach all graduated from college, and several have advanced degrees. 4 are married, working, and starting families. The churched group has three out of wedlock great-grandkids the otehr group, none. Oh, and the entire lot of them, except for our two, are GOP worshippers.
